From November 21 to November 25, the largest furniture exhibition Mebel-2022 was held at the Expocenter Fairgrounds in Moscow. The main manufacturer of MDF and laminate floorings in Russia – Kastamonu – became the General Sponsor of the exhibition, partner and sponsor of the Second All-Russia Conference of Furniture Manufacturers within the framework of the exhibition, as well as a speaker and presenter of new collections of decorative panels.

Mebel-2022 is one of the main events in the furniture and interior industry – it unites industry professionals from all regions of Russia and the CIS countries. As part of the event, on November 21, the Second All-Russia Conference of Furniture Manufacturers was held with the participation of representatives of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia and leading industry experts. The conference was organized by the Association of Furniture and Wood Processing Industry Enterprises of the Russian Federation (AMDPR), while the conference itself was timed to the 25th anniversary of the Association. Sponsors included Kastamonu Russia, which is No. 1 laminate and MDF manufacturer in the country.

During the conference, an open dialogue was held between representatives of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation and top managers of industry players, who spoke about the problems of the industry. The issues concerning the operation of timber industry enterprises in the conditions of restrictive measures were considered: the development of necessary tools to support domestic manufacturers and, in general, the state of the furniture industry of the Russian Federation at the moment. Heads of furniture companies also voiced proposals on the support measures they need. Ali Kılıç, CEO of Kastamonu Russia, paid special attention to the Russian-Turkish relations, and considered possible solutions for the development of exports together with Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of Russia Mr. Bocharov.

The conference participants also discussed the problems in the domestic market of boards and plywood. A separate session discussed the promotion of the AMDPR initiative with representatives of companies on solutions for the possibility of including wooden furniture when buying apartments. It is noted that this will increase the attractiveness of development projects and have a positive impact on furniture production. Other issues included: an increase in the cost of imported components against the background of ruble strengthening, narrowing demand and increasing competition.

The All-Russia Conference was also attended by: A.N. Shestakov – President of AMDPR, General Director of the First Furniture Factory; T.R. Irtuganov - General Director of AMDPR; O.E. Bocharov – Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of Russia; S.F. Radchenko – Member of the Supervisory Board of Angstrem Group; V.G. Khmyrova - Director of the Department of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia and a number of other top officials of leading manufacturers of furniture, wood boards and plywood.

“This event is of great importance for the enterprises of the furniture industry and related industries. Having gathered together at the conference, we were able to discuss pressing problems and topical issues of the industry in an open dialogue with representatives of the Ministry of Industry and Trade and business leaders. I would like to thank the Association of Furniture and Wood Processing Industry Enterprises of the Russian Federation for this opportunity. Their tremendous support plays an important role. We are always ready to work for the development of the industry. And, of course, we once again congratulate the Association on its 25th anniversary, wish it further development and high achievements,” commented Ali Kılıç, CEO of Kastamonu Russia.

During the exhibition, the company held 4 presentations “Decorative panels by Kastamonu. Novelties of 2023” and presented new decorative panels of the Evogloss and Acrylic brands, as well as new Acrymatt high-tech acrylic matte panels of the Acrylic brand. Acrymatt panels are panels with a decorative extra-matte surface, produced using advanced unique technologies by applying Senosan AM1800TopMatt AF acrylic sheets on MDF boards. In addition to being soft to the touch, the products are highly resistant to fingerprints and easy to care for. Thanks to this production technology, based on the principle of extra-mattness and quality, the panels are unique and have no peers. Evogloss and Acrylic decorative panels by Kastamonu are an important substitute for imports, thereby supporting the Russian furniture industry.

Having gathered over 200 guests at their presentations, the company's representatives paid attention to each participant, demonstrated the features and advantages of decorative panels with specific examples, emphasized their distinctive characteristics, provided an opportunity to test samples, as well as held a joint coffee break, answered questions and presented original souvenirs.
