The company participated in tree planting as part of the international environmental campaign “Breath for the Future, Breath for the World”, organized by the Republic of Turkey. The event was held on the territory of the Consulate General of Turkey in Kazan.
Last Wednesday, Kastamonu employees took part in tree planting as part of the international environmental campaign “Breath for the Future, Breath for the World”. The event was first held in 2019 under the auspices of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. At that time, more than 11 million trees were planted in Turkey. In 2020, more than 30 countries from all over the world joined the campaign.
In Kazan, the event was held on the territory of the Consulate General of the Republic of Turkey with the participation of Consul General Ismet Erikan, representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry of Turkey, and employees of Kastamonu, who have provided seedlings.
Consul General Ismet Erikan, speaking at the event, expressed the hope that the “Breath for the Future, Breath for the World” campaign under the auspices of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan will become even larger in the coming years and will be supported by even more countries. “I am sure that the trees planted in the garden of the Consulate General will also make a small contribution to cleaning the air of Kazan.”
“Supporting various environmental programs and campaigns is a good long-standing tradition of Kastamonu. Working in Tatarstan, we cannot but pay special attention to reforestation in this region. Every year the company joins various activities for planting trees. Most recently, we have participated in the national campaign “Forest Week”, and now it is a great honor for us to contribute to the support of such a large-scale international project as “Breath for the Future, Breath for the World,” said Ali Kılıç, CEO of Kastamonu in Russia.
In addition to direct reforestation activities, Kastamonu regularly supports various environmental initiatives and participates in environmental campaigns. In March 2020, Kastamonu once again became the general partner of the “Earth Hour” campaign in Russia.
