Kastamonu Russia got German ED2020 quality certificateMedia
The document confirms the company's right to sell products in Germany in accordance with the new legislation regulating the content of chemicals in various products. Currently, the share of export of the Kastamonu Russia plant to the countries of Europe and Asia accounts for about 40% of all manufactured products.
The ban on chemicals shall come into force in Germany on January 1, 2020. It will apply, in particular, to building materials made of wood, such as laminate, MDF, HDF boards and others. Based on this regulation, the German Research Institute Fraunhofer (Europe's leading applied research organization) has developed the ED2020 certificate, which is issued to manufacturers to certify that their products meet requirements for the acceptable formaldehyde content.
Formaldehyde is a carcinogenic toxic gas found in wood. Exceeding its concentration in the environment is dangerous for human health. In order to reduce the emission of formaldehyde, manufacturers of building materials made of wood use special substances-catchers that allow making environmentally safe products.
Floorings and MDF boards by Kastamonu meet all Russian and international standards for the release of formaldehyde, which is confirmed by various certificates and tests.
"We understand that today it is more important than ever to keep up with the times, and to track current trends of the world market. Therefore, the company is constantly working to improve product quality, improve technical and environmental performance. At each production stage, all materials produced by us are subject to careful laboratory control with the use of the most accurate and modern equipment," said Ali Kılıç, CEO of Kastamonu Russia.
In addition, the company is quarterly audited by the German Research Institute Fraunhofer, which confirms the compliance of products with such certificates as CARB2 (USA), EPA TSCA (USA) and IOSMAT003 (Russia). Samples selected during the audit are sent to Germany for comparative testing in local laboratories.
In order to choose environmentally safe products with a set content of formaldehyde, you must pay attention to the presence of the E1 mark on the packing, as well as information about the CARB2, EPA TSCA and other certificates.
