Kastamonu supported the Life Circle environmental movementMedia
The company joined the all-Russian campaign by handing over more than 600 kg of recyclable materials and allocating funds for the purchase of seedlings for the Green Square in Yelabuga (Republic of Tatarstan).
The Life Circle campaign is an all-Russian environmental movement, where any organization or resident of the country can exchange waste paper and plastic for seedlings of trees and shrubs. The goal of the movement is to improve the environment. Participants of the Life Circle movement promote the culture of separate waste collection and recycling, the idea of improving the urban environment by planting trees and shrubs, as well as instill in children a new culture of attitude to the environment. The movement was born in 2017 in St. Petersburg, while in Yelabuga it was organized two years ago under the auspices of the Bars Youth Center.
Kastamonu has traditionally supported such initiatives. The company regularly participates in tree planting activities on the territory of Tatarstan. In October, company's employees joined the Forest Week republican campaign and participated in the planting of fir trees in the Yelabuga forestry.
“Waste recycling is an important issue of the company's environmental policy. At the enterprise, we are successfully practicing separate waste collection. We annually send hundreds of tons of production waste for recycling and independently dispose it. This helps to save resources and large amounts of energy. Such movements as the Life Circle are an excellent example of a responsible attitude to the environment and an opportunity for everyone to contribute to the greening of territories and improving the environmental situation in the country,” said Ali Kılıç, CEO of Kastamonu Russia.
Over the past five years, the company has helped to plant more than 5,000 trees in the region. In addition to reforestation activities and participation in environmental campaigns, Kastamonu cooperates with WWF Russia and Forest Stewardship Council (FSC), which promotes responsible forest management. In March 2020, the company once again became the general partner of the Earth Hour campaign in Russia.
