MDF boards by Kastamonu passed control for compliance with the European Fire Safety Standard

The company has received an official certificate of compliance with the EN 13501-1:2018 standard, which sets standards for the reaction of building materials to fire.

The European standard EN 13501-1: 2018 includes three criteria for evaluating building materials: combustibility, smoke formation and formation of burning droplets. According to the results of laboratory tests conducted at the Testing and European Certification Center in Bulgaria, Kastamonu fire-resistant MDF boards were assigned the B s2 d0 fire safety class. This means that products belong to the category of materials with high resistance to fire, have an average degree of smoke formation, do not form burning drops, and do not lead to a flame outbreak.

During the tests according to the EN 13501-1:2018 standard, materials are exposed to open fire for a certain time. The reaction of the sample is recorded both directly during the contact with the flame, and in the set period after its end.

In addition to compliance with the European standard EN 13501-1: 2018, Kastamonu fire-resistant MDF boards have a certificate of compliance with requirements of Russia's standards with the KM1 fire hazard class. According to this classification, the building material has low indicators of combustibility, flammability, smoke formation and toxicity.
